About Piano for Kids

Piano for Kids is a playable keyboard with a proper teaching path built around it, not just a screen of coloured keys. It opens in four sections: Lessons, Practice, Songs and Studio. Lessons start at the very beginning — Find Do, Find Re, Find Mi — before building up through Do Re Mi, Little Star, Scale Climb, Happy Tune and Magic Chord.

Practice mode drills the note a child has just met, Songs lets them play a full tune with on-screen guidance, and Studio is free play with no instructions at all. That last part matters: children who are only ever guided stop experimenting. Having somewhere to simply press keys and listen is how most children discover they enjoy music in the first place.

How to Play

  1. Start in Lessons and learn to find Do, Re and Mi.
  2. Use Practice to drill each new note.
  3. Play a full tune in Songs with guided keys.
  4. Switch to Studio to make up your own music freely.

What Kids Learn

  • Note names and where they sit on a keyboard
  • Melody, rhythm and simple chords
  • Listening and pitch recognition
  • Confidence to improvise in free play

Questions Parents Ask

Does my child need a real piano?
No. The on-screen keyboard is the instrument. If you do have a real piano at home, the note names and finger patterns transfer across directly.
What songs can children play?
Guided tunes include Little Star, Do Re Mi, Scale Climb, Happy Tune and Magic Chord, each introduced after the lesson that teaches the notes it needs.
Is it too advanced for a four-year-old?
The first lessons only ask a child to find one note, which a four-year-old manages easily. Studio free play works at any age, including for toddlers.
