About the Kids Shopping Game

The Kids Shopping Game is maths practice disguised as a trip to the shops. Children work from a shopping list, find each item in the store, add up what the basket costs and hand over the correct amount — the full transaction, not just the arithmetic pulled out of it.

Goals give each session a clear shape: buy six items from the list, pay the correct total, visit a store. Several store types cover groceries, toys, clothes, shoes and jewellery, and a hard difficulty raises the prices and the mental arithmetic for children who have outgrown the easy totals. Handling money is a life skill most maths games ignore entirely.

How to Play

  1. Read your shopping list and pick a store.
  2. Find each item on the list and add it to the basket.
  3. Add up the total cost of everything.
  4. Pay with the correct money to complete the trip.

What Kids Learn

  • Adding prices and working out a total
  • Recognising and counting money
  • Working from a list without forgetting items
  • Real-world life skills for shopping

Questions Parents Ask

Does it teach real money handling?
Yes. Children add up a basket and pay the correct amount, which is the part of shopping most maths games leave out entirely.
Which stores can they visit?
Groceries, toys, clothes, shoes and jewellery, each with its own items and price ranges to work with.
Is there a harder mode?
Yes. Hard difficulty raises prices and totals so the mental arithmetic keeps stretching children who find the standard totals easy.
