About Cubix Learn Basic

Cubix Learn Basic is the first lesson of the cube trainer, covering everything that comes before any attempt at solving. It teaches the move codes used to write cube instructions, how to orient yourself on the cube so you know which face is which, and the difference between an edge piece and a corner piece.

It is worth doing this part properly. Children who jump straight to a solving guide usually stall because they cannot tell which piece a step is referring to. Ten minutes on the vocabulary here makes the actual solving stages far less frustrating, and it is the same vocabulary used in every cube tutorial your child will find later.

How to Play

  1. Learn the move codes for each face turn.
  2. Practise finding front, back, top, bottom, left and right.
  3. Identify edge pieces and corner pieces on the cube.
  4. Move on to the full trainer once the codes make sense.

What Kids Learn

  • Cube notation and what each code means
  • Orienting yourself on a 3D object
  • Telling edge and corner pieces apart
  • The vocabulary used in all cube guides
